Emergency Management Solutions was contracted to deploy an Incident Management Assistance Team to develop plans to sustain the community’s needs regarding COVID-19 patient surge and provide additional capacity for the 187 hospitals found within the 25-county area in the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council. Within seven days of receiving direction from elected officials, a 250-bed acute care facility with a supporting 30 bed emergency facility was established at NRG Park next to the Astrodome.
